IXL operates as a cloud-based experimentation platform, hosting evolving reference implementations of maturing Army reference architectures. Serving as a practical baseline in agile methodology, the reference implementation and industry-focused experimentation provides a concrete foundation for iterative development. This approach promotes a unified understanding and enhances collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups. It streamlines development for industry partners, offers baseline validation, ensures interoperability, and fosters a clearer, more comprehensive understanding within the community.

We are currently delving into the potential architectural influences of various commercial technology capabilities within a data mesh environment. Our focus is not on contrasting different technologies, but rather on understanding how the integration of a specific Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) technology might influence our reference implementation architecture. This includes a thorough evaluation of the primary architectural impacts, along with any consequential secondary and tertiary effects on the overall architecture. The insights gained from this exploration will be harnessed to offer practical implementation guidance to our Army programs.
